Pocket Sinfonia Review

“On Friday 15th March 2019 I was able to listen to Pocket Sinfonia playing in the James Wyatt Music Room in my old home, Powderham Castle. I have to admit that I am short on knowledge of classical music & had no idea what to expect. With a programme that included Mozart Symphony No. 35, Prokofiev Classical Symphony and Greig’s Holberg Suite, the performers Rosie Bowker – flute, Gabriella Jones – violin, Tom Isaac – cello & Emil Duncumb – piano, transported us all into a magical world of differing emotions with each piece they played. They were positioned under the large portrait of the 10th Earl of Devon who wears a serious, quizzical expression. However there was such a powerful atmosphere being created by the performers that I am sure I glimpsed a brief smile appearing on his face!”
